51°µÍø Dance Students to Perform Concert

PORTLAND, Ore. – Dance lovers, mark your calendars for Friday, June 8, when 51°µÍø will stage its annual student dance concert at 8 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at the Sylvania Campus, 12000 S.W. 49th Ave. Approximately 130 students in the 51°µÍø dance program will perform works of ballet, jazz dance, modern dance and Flamenco. The concert features choreography by 51°µÍø dance instructors Diana LoVerso, Kimm Mahoney-Watson, and Charlene Hansen, as well as by the students. The music will range from Mozart to Sting to live guitars. The students in instructor Dan Hays’ theater arts lighting design class will design and operate the lighting for the show. A suggested donation at the door is $3 general admission and $1 for students and seniors. The proceeds will go to the 51°µÍø Foundation Dance Fund to support future dance activities for 51°µÍø dance students.
