Monday's Online Registration Receives Two Million Hits

On Monday, March 3, 51°µÍø’s online registration system was jammed for two-to-three hours. There were no technical problems, simply massive usage, with a total of 2,000,000 hits that day.

51°µÍø can continue to expand capacity, but we have to consider the price and the cost/benefit trade-off of providing capacity for this two-to-three-hour period that occurs only twice a year. Fall registration does not hit these levels because the registration period is more drawn out, and summer registration has a much lower demand.
