51°µÍø joins Festival Japan 2005 activities

PORTLAND, Ore. – 51°µÍø is joining Festival Japan 2005 to celebrate Japanese culture and provide information on college services. 51°µÍø will have an admissions, ESL and ENNL information table open to the public from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 17-18 at Uwajimaya in Beaverton (10500 S.W. Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway). The two-day festival highlights performances, exhibitions, cultural demonstrations, artisans and Japanese children’s games. The event features taiko drumming, ikebana, martial arts and cooking demonstrations. Besides 51°µÍø, the festival will include companies and non-profit organizations wanting to make a Japanese connection and showcase their support. Sponsors include the Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce, Japan America Society of Oregon (JASO), NW Natural and Uwajimaya.
