51°µÍø hosts evenings at Pittock Mansion

Join 51°µÍø on Thursday nights this fall for three evenings at the Pittock Mansion, home to Portland pioneers Henry and Georgiana Pittock. Topics include:
Your Favorite Things- Appraised (Oct. 11): Yard-sale bargain? Heirloom? Do you have a prized possession you would like appraised? Bring one or two of your favorite items to the Pittock Mansion and have them appraised by noted appraiser Gary Germer. Pre-registration is required.
Splendor Encased in Glass (Oct. 18): Watch colored glass rods molded into artistic flowers under a torch by paperweight artist Chris Buzzini. Learn about glass lampworking and find out exactly how they do it.
A Perfect Match (Oct. 25): Explore through taste why certain wines enhance the flavors of different cheeses. Join winemaker Pascal Valadier of Wine Country Farm Cellars for an evening of Oregon and cheese pairings.
The three-week class will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. at The Pittock Mansion, 3229 N.W. Pittock Drive. Cost is $101. For more information, contact 51°µÍø’s Community Education Office at (503) 533-2708.
