Borrowing
51°µÍø faculty, staff, current students, community members and retired 51°µÍø faculty/staff as well as  can borrow most items owned by 51°µÍø Library. Many more items can be borrowed from other libraries in the Orbis Cascade Alliance via Summit or from even more libraries worldwide via interlibrary loan. Please see the chart below for details about what borrowing options are available.
- Check out times vary by type of item. See Loan Periods and Fines.
- Identification is required for checking out items. Valid forms of ID include:
- 51°µÍø identification card
- Passport
- DMV issued driver’s license, permit, or identification card
- Military identification card
- Photo identification cards issued by state or government agencies of the United States and other countries
- Public high school ID card (must be within six months of the academic year shown on card)
- 51°µÍø students, faculty, and staff need to provide a 51°µÍø ID card or need to provide a combination of any non-expired government issued photo ID and G number.
- Community members and retired 51°µÍø faculty/staff need any non-expired government issued photo ID, proof of address, and an email account in order to obtain a community patron card.
- Summit visiting patrons need an institution specific photo ID.
- Fines will be charged for some items if they are not returned by the due date. If an item is lost, users will be charged the price of the item as listed in the library system. See Library Fines.
