Supply List for Painterly Printmaking (CRN 45828)

“Painterly Printmaking” Supply List

First off, I love to collect things that people don’t want anymore. So, that means I have a lot of stuff to share for printmaking but, you’ll need to bring a few things to each class. I have included links to Blick for examples but you can get these things at local stores like Artist & Craftsman (SE Powell, or N Lombard), Art Supply Center (SE Foster) and Columbia Art & Drafting (E Burnside).

Bring to Each Class 

• Any recycled paper you wish to print  (ideas: junk mail, catalogs, newspaper, it’s all going to get covered in paint!)
• Speaking of covered in paint, you will want a huge shirt or apron to cover yourself during class. 🙂

• Brayer – 2 inches or larger

• Palette knife for mixing

• Plastic palette or palette pad- recommend 12×16

• Scissors
• liquid glue, like mod podge

Acrylic paints – Heavy Body 

I recommend a 4 oz tube or larger of the following:  

• Cadmium Yellow Light or similar 
• Yellow ochre 
• Cadmium Red Light or similar 
• Quinacridone magenta 
• Pthalo or Prussian Blue (any shade is fine) 
• Raw umber 
• Titanium White 
• permanent violet dark or similar

A Basic set of paint brushes – brushes are personal so get what you think you want to use or try, does not have to be a proper brush either, bring anything you think will make a mark!
